Jennie Maydew

Research

Jennie Maydew (she/her) is an artist, designer, educator and chef. Her creative practice is an inquiry into ‘making the thing that makes the thing,’ alternative economies, repair and maintenance, (fun)ctional objects, environments for exchange, and the concept of play as serious work. Jennie’s process combines the tactile with the experiential: an intimate making practice sustained by observation, documentation, and intervention in public space. Her experience as an art educator feeds an ongoing interest in the conceptual practice of teaching and the infinite reciprocity of the artist-educator identity.
